Joint replacement care at Henry County Hospital is in the top 10% in the nation as measured by lowest risk-adjusted complications according to a new report from Healthgrades, the nation’s leading online resource that helps consumers search, compare and connect with physicians and hospitals.
Henry County not only performs at a 5-star level – it outperforms other hospitals in the nation in this condition, and as a result has been recognized with the 2014 Healthgrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award.
A 5-star rating indicates that Henry County Hospital’s clinical outcomes are better than expected when treating the condition or conducting the procedure being evaluated.
Other 5-star awards for Henry County Hospital in orthopedics include:
- Five-Star Recipient for Total Knee Replacement for 6 Years in a Row (2009-2014)
- Five-Star Recipient for Total Hip Replacement in 2014
- Five-Star Recipient for Hip Fracture Treatment for 6 Years in a Row (2009-2014)
“The recognition that our joint replacement program is among the top 10% in the US is a significant honor and a testament to the outstanding teamwork and care we provide our orthopedic surgery patients,” commented Paul Janssen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Henry County Hospital.
“Dr. Thomas Mathews, FAAOS, and Dr. Lindsey Rolston, FAAOS, should be particularly recognized for the orthopedic program they have developed at Henry County Center for Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine and their leadership in developing orthopedic services at Henry County Hospital,” Janssen explained.
“As the founding physicians of this practice, they have expanded it to include orthopedic surgeons Damion Harris, MD FAAOS, Kyle Siewert MD, and pain management and rehabilitation medicine physician Dr. Scott Taylor,” he continued.
“In addition to the superior skills of our surgeons, the teamwork and coordination with their office staff and our surgery, nursing, physical therapy and other departments provide this excellent patient experience and outcomes,” emphasized Janssen.
For its analysis Healthgades evaluated hospital performance at over 4,500 hospitals nationwide from 2010 through 2012 including evaluating approximately 40 million Medicare patient records.
